The President, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, today, the 29th
of June, 2016 commissioned a newly built community Senior High School at Adobewora, in the Atwima
Mponua District of the Ashanti Region. This formed part of the President’s
Accounting to the People Tour of the region, which started on Tuesday.
The classroom block complex consists of twenty four
classrooms, eight offices and sixteen washrooms. This brings to one hundred and
twenty-three, the number of classroom complexes commissioned by the President, out of the two hundred the
government of the National Democratic Congress promised in its 2012 political
manifesto.
In a speech to the chiefs and people during the ceremony,
President Mahama said his administration will continue to expand Senior High
Schools in the country. According to him, without a good education, Ghana
cannot improve upon her human resource base. The President promised to fulfill
his promise to the nation, in 2012, that his government will expand and upgrade
Senior High Schools in the country.
A member of the Adobewora community, Stephen Yeboah, who
spoke on behalf of the chiefs, thanked the government for the provision of the
facility.
